Fish Dinners at Diners

I would like to extend a friendly word of warning. Never order fish at a diner. Always ensure that youre going to a quality restaurant for any entree consisting of fish. Diners are all well and good but there are just some things you shouldnt order when your at one; especially fish.

About twenty years ago, my brother-in-law Doug and I got out of the bar really late and spent our night walking the streets in Greenwich Village in search of a diner. We did. Doug wasnt in too good of shape already and I tried to talk him out of ordering it but he had his mind set on grilled salmon.

I ordered a cup of coffee and a slice of cherry pie; simple, honest diner food. I took a sip of my coffee I could see that Dougs eyes were beginning to roll back as a wave of pale green flushed his face. Then the waiter set down his food. It looked undercooked and had a bad smell to it. It really had an awful smell, I remember because immediately after he took one whiff of it, Doug puked all over himself, the booth, the table, and my shoes but remarkably not on his plate.

The stink of his puke and food kind of fused together and has been permanently fixed to my nasal passages occasionally loosening up and filling my nose with awful smelling memories like a bad acid flash-back. So, in the name of all that is Holy, stay away from Fish at Diners.
