Crime Reports and Statistics

Looking for Accurate Crime Reports and Statistics

Getting current and specialized crime reports and statistics for any one city or state or area can mean different things to different people. You can ask two different people about a particular crime statistic and get two completely different and sometimes conflicting answers. There are various reasons for this. Many agencies only keep track of particular stats for a particular city or area and for certain types of crimes. Some Federal agencies, for example, only keep track of serious crimes like assaults and murders and bank robberies.

If you ask those agencies if the crime rate is up or down, the answer they may give you will only be for murders, assaults and bank robberies. In other words it will only cover the areas that they keep track of. Its always best to contact the local police department or agency that is responsible for that area to get up to date crime reports and statistics for any given city or community.

Also, going online is not always the most reliable source of information as the information that is reflected on a blog or website may be years old, or it could be current, depending on when it was put onto the site. And just because the information is on the site or blog doesn’t mean that it is always correct, even if it was just put up, it could be incorrect information. Thus as so many things today, it is much more advisable to use an expert or at least a reliable website that has a reputation of being up to date and accurate.
